This issue of “Purpose” is devoted to the problem which has recently dominated the Polish media – activity on the labour market of people after 50. However, we have decided to look at this problem from the point of view suggested by the profile of our magazine. Thus we have arrived at the topic "Culture at 50+"

Is the problem equally understood by people connected with culture and by those who work in other fields of economy? The answer can be found in our articles and interviews. We particularly recommend the interview with Ewa Bem. This experienced artist is making her debut as a songwriter. She has just released her new record called “Kakadu”.

In the “Analysis” Artur Zaguła answers the question whether an architect in his 50s should think about retirement. Next “In the Margin” we publish his interview with professor Andrzej Koziarski – the director of the University of the Third Age at the Technical University of Łódź – about the differences between young and elderly students. We also recommend the article entitled “Faces of Maturity, or Polish Social Campaign” by Paulina Szwed-Piestrzeniewicz - in the section “Workshops”.

Finally, we encourage you to read the interviews conducted by our e-Trainees. The best three texts which show the involvement with culture of people 50+, as seen by the eyes of young people, are published in the section “Young Culture.

Inviting you to read the last issue of "Purpose" in this year, we wish you a prosperous New Year 2008, full of creative ideas.

This undertaking was prepared and is realized under the Promotion of Reading Operation Programme announced by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
